Criticism is hurled at the magazine Politico, after they included Meghan Markle in an article where she is referred to as a narcissist. That’s what The Independent writes.
There have been several reactions to the Duchess of Sussex being mentioned in the same terms as alleged fraudsters, anti-Semites and criminals.
The other names that have been included in the same list are former President Donald Trump, Twitter and Tesla owner Elon Musk, Kanye West and crypto magnate Sam Bankman-Fried.
Citing Netflix documentary
The column, with the headline “2022 Is the Year We All Finally Got Tired of Narcissists”, argues that the public has had enough of certain celebrities’ selfish and attention-seeking appearance.
As an example, Politico cites the six-part Netflix documentary “Harry and Meghan,” in which the couple discuss their relationship and step away from their royal duties.
The writer distinguishes between Meghan and the more notorious people in the article, such as convicted Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmes, and writes that Markle’s addiction to the public eye is benign.
– Doesn’t belong at home
Reuters correspondent Chris Taylor is among those who have reacted to Markle’s inclusion in the article.
So has political analyst and author, Kirsten Powers, and has tweeted the following:

Podcast host Paul E Martin has also taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on the chronicle.
– How in God’s name was Meghan Markle put in this group? She’s not perfect, but a black woman standing up for herself and her family doesn’t qualify as a narcissist. Seriously, Politico.
Responding
Twitter user Lisa Glass wrote that “2022 is the year we all finally got sick of Politico.” This has prompted the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Ryan Heath, to respond to the criticism.
– If you want to write off an entire publication because one of our 600 journalists included Meghan Markle on a list, you are really tired of free debate, writes Heath.
