FRESNO, California – Fire crews are searching for a person who allegedly entered a city canal and did not return.
A 911 call alerted Fresno firefighters who arrived in the area of Thorne and Nielsen avenues to investigate a missing man report.
Firefighters say that they have stopped the search without recovering any victims, but it will resume with new reinforcements that join the operation.
“We no longer consider this a rescue, it is rather the recovery of a body,” added the spokesperson for the Fire Department.
