Resident Evil 4 Remake – The Difficulty Levels
- assisted: lower prices at the merchant, aim assist on, auto heal, more ammo when crafting
- default: Aim assist can be activated in the menu
- veteran: Enemies and challenges are harder, purchase prices are higher
- professional: Auto save is disabled, only perfect parries lead to success, all weapon mods available from the start

You have to fulfill the following requirements in the different levels of difficulty. Attention: For S+ ranks you have to start a game from the beginning. New Game Plus is not allowed here.

Tips for reaching A and S ranks
You also tackle these two ranks in the New Game Plus. The advantage: You start with all your equipment from the first round. This means that you only have to meet the corresponding time requirements. If you get an S rank on a certain difficulty, you will also get the rewards for the A rank.
Useful outfits and weapons for S+ rank
In our weapon guide, we have already told you how to use all guns in Resident Evil 4 Remake (buy now / €53.99 ) unlocks. Be sure to grab the hand cannon for the S+ attempt. You can earn the Magnum by either completing the game on Professional difficulty or by earning an S rank in all Mercenaries missions. Then you unlock the weapon in the bonus shop and get it at every typewriter in the game. The hand cannon’s special upgrade provides you with unlimited ammo. The quickest way to get the weapon is via the Mercenaries mode. Alternatively, grab the Chicago Sweeper (Rank A in Pro mode, also possible via NG+), which also provides you with endless ammo.
We also recommend the knight armor bonus costume for Ashley. With this, Ashley will not take any damage in Resident Evil 4 Remake and will not be kidnapped. To unlock the Knight Armor, complete a Veteran playthrough with an A rank. The following table tells you all the outfits with useful bonuses and localities. The cat ears provide you with unlimited ammo for all weapons. You only get this for the S+ rank in the professional difficulty level.
