Chihuahua, Chih.- Despite the fact that the cold has continued in the entity during the first two months of the year, respiratory diseases in the entity have been decreasing, positioning Chihuahua as the entities with the lowest incidence, since of the more than 700 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants who registered in a period of one week in December these were reduced to 290 in the first week of February.

This is detailed in the weekly report of Epidemiological Surveillance of the federal Ministry of Health. It highlights that in the state of Chihuahua it was at the beginning of December when this rebound in cases occurred, which during the month dropped to an average of 329 per 100,000 inhabitants at the end of 2022.

In the first month of 2023, Chihuahua started with an average of 340.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which was reduced until the beginning of February to a total of 295 per 100,000 inhabitants.

In this sense, and despite the fact that the lowest temperatures in the country have occurred, Chihuahua has not been one of the entities most affected by this type of seasonal illness.

However, the state government through the Civil Protection coordination urged the population to avoid sudden changes in temperature and recommended wearing clothing appropriate to the season, preparing heating devices, ensuring that specialized personnel maintain them, in case of presenting symptoms of a respiratory disease, avoiding self-medication and going to the doctor, eating foods rich in vitamin aCyD, protecting the respiratory tract and taking special care with the elderly, children and chronically ill patients.
