The Institute of Seniors and Social Servicesbetter known as IMSERSO, has enabled a aid intended to pay the rent of a home for retirees who receive a non-contributory pension.
This aid, of 525 euros, is intended for non-contributory pensions (both disability and retirement) and is an annual amount in a single payment. It is worth remembering that non-contributory pensions are aimed at those people who face economic needs and have not contributed enough to the Social Security system to receive an ordinary benefit. Those retirees with contributory pensions will not be able to collect the extra 525 euros.
In 2024, non-contributory pensions, both retirement and disability pensions, have increased to 7,250.60 euros per year (517.90 euros per month in 14 payments).
Until when can you request help and where to ask at Imserso?
The deadline to request this subsidy is extended until December 31and requires that interested parties present the corresponding documentation, and to access it, pensioners must meet certain requirements, such as:
- Have a Social Security retirement or disability pension recognized in its non-contributory form, on the date of the application and on the date of resolution.
- Lack of owned housing.
- Be the holder of the rental contract for the home.
- Not have a marital or kinship relationship with the landlord of the rented property up to the third degree nor constitute with him a stable and cohabiting union with an emotional relationship analogous to the marital one.
- Have your residence established, as your habitual residence, in a rented home. It will be understood that it is the habitual residence when the term of the lease is not less than one year and you have resided there for a minimum period of 180 days prior to the date of the request.
