Space Christmas is in full swing, and 2023 is fast approaching. Tropp 1 participants celebrate Christmas and New Year for the first time since their participation, and several use this time to set themselves various goals.

Some have set strict goals and New Year’s resolutions, while others are taking it easy. TV 2 has had a chat with six of the twelve participants about what Christmas and the new year will look like for them.

Do not flee to the screen

Marion Fransrud (27) has this year dedicated much of the Christmas season to charitable work. She and a friend have collected gifts and money for people in vulnerable situations.

During her Tropp 1 participation, she appreciated one thing in particular, which she has taken with her into Christmas this year.

– Less screen time and more presence in general with friends and in social settings. Not looking down and fleeing to the screen as soon as it gets quiet or uncomfortable is super important and not least a “game changer”, she says and adds:

– In my opinion, it is one of the main reasons why we “bonded” so genuinely and quickly with each other in there. Just think what it could do to the relationships on the outside!

Fransrud has no special New Year’s resolutions, but is looking forward to several things in 2023. She is planning a trip to Asia and, among other things, is looking forward to buying her own apartment.

– Going to use it against me

Less screen time continues with several of the participants, but for Anna Green (21) this comes with a slight aftertaste:

– I will regret saying this, because mum will use it against me, but it can also be a good thing, she begins.

– I hope to be on the mobile phone as little as possible.

This year, Green is going to Vardø and Kirkenes to spend Christmas with his grandparents and the rest of the family. She points out that it will be difficult not to lie on the sofa and watch TV all day.

Despite the fact that she never sets New Year’s resolutions, she has one goal for the new year:

– I hope to focus more on the positive and enjoy life, says Green.

– Cold shower three times a week

Music producer Magishan “Maggy” Umaguruparan (20) is one of those who has set clear goals for Christmas and the New Year. This year the plan is to have fun with the family, with good food and energy.

There is one thing in particular that he has brought into Christmas from the strict regime of Dag Otto Lauritzen and Kristian Ødegård:

– Eat everything on the plate and don’t throw food away.

He also has two New Year’s resolutions:

– Take a cold shower three times a week and a sauna, and fall asleep at 10pm every day, he writes to TV 2.

In 2023, Umaguruparan will finish his bachelor’s degree, and plans to go on a European tour.

Was signed up for Tropp 1 last Christmas

Like several of the participants, Elisa Vagle (25) has set herself a goal for the new year to put down her mobile more.

When the participants did not have access to the telephone at Setnesmoen camp, Vagle learned how easy it really was not to be dependent on it.

– It was really delicious. It’s so easy to get lost in your own world when you’re on your mobile. So I will take that with me further and just put it away, says Vagle.

It comes in particularly handy when she visits her family in Sandnes. She hasn’t seen them since last Christmas.

– It will be interesting. My sister signed me up for Tropp 1 at Christmas, so it’s a bit special. We will have many funny conversations, she says.

– A good number of “lazy” days

Fredrikstad boy Julian Pieter Roos Rassat (23) celebrates Christmas at home on Kråkerøy with his immediate family. In addition, he is going on a trip to the cabin during Christmas with friends.

– So this will be a nice Christmas!

He now wants to focus on being a good person for those around him. In addition, he has a New Year’s resolution to get in better physical shape.

– This means that you have to try to put in a few training sessions every week, he says.

But until 2023, everyday life will not bear so much of the Tropp 1 regime.

– I can’t imagine myself getting up early throughout Christmas. There is probably a high probability that Christmas will bring with it a good number of “lazy” days.

– Difficult to name a few things

Thor-Arne Reinertsen (27) is celebrating Christmas this year with his family and girlfriend in Hommersåk. He says that a lot has changed since participating in Tropp 1.

– It is difficult to name just a few things, as I have changed quite widely in many different areas, he adds.

What he wants to take with him from the experience into Christmas is to be more structured and keep a cool head in the stress of Christmas and the New Year.

Now he is looking forward to what 2023 has to bring in terms of new challenges and experiences. Reinertsen has set himself the goal of becoming healthier and living a more active lifestyle.
