TORONTO (AP) — Bobby Wood scored in the first half, DeJuan Jones scored in the second and the New England Revolution beat Toronto 2-0 on Saturday to continue leading the Eastern Conference and MLS.

Wood gave New England the early lead in the 19th minute, going for three goals on the season. Jones secured the win in the 62nd with his first goal of the season.

Toronto, coming off a win over New York City FC, has managed just two wins in its last 17 games. He has 12 points and is third from last in the Eastern Conference.

The Revolution reached 24 units. They beat Cincinnati on goal difference, which beat DC United 2-1, with a goal and an assist from Luciano Acosta.

The Argentine Acosta got his second goal of the campaign after 59 minutes. Cincinnati extended the lead in the 73rd when Acosta lavished a pass to Alvaro Barreal, who scored for the first time this season. Also on Saturday, Josef Martinez scored his first two goals of the season. He did it precisely against his previous club, so that Inter Miami beat Atlanta United 2-1.

Argentine Enzo Copetti was another who scored a brace on the day, leading Charlotte to a 3-2 victory over New York City FC. His compatriot Cristian Espinoza also scored twice as the San Jose Earthquakes routed defending champion Los Angeles FC with their first loss of the season, 2-1.

In other games, the Colorado Rapids defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1; Montreal beat Orlando City 2-0; Nashville thrashed the Chicago Fire 3-0; the Philadelphia Union beat the New York Red Bulls 1-0; Austin tied 2-2 against the Portland Timbers; the Vancouver Whitecaps beat Minnesota United 3-2.

The Houston Dynamo drew 0-0 with Real Salt Lake.

A thunderstorm forced the postponement of the meeting in Frisco, Texas, between Dallas and St. Louis.
