Edgar Iván González, 44 years old and a Reynosa resident, was arrested this Wednesday, August 2 in connection with the death of Eric Michael García, 32 years old.
The man was taken into custody while on 23rd Street in McAllen. For this crime, the authorities continue to search for Juan Miguel Herrera Gómez, 38 years old.
Gonzalez is expected to be brought before a judge in Edinburg Municipal Court soon.
On the day of the crime, García was apparently visiting a friend when a person approached his vehicle, argued with him, and then shot him in cold blood, before fleeing the scene. So far the authorities have not revealed what the motivation for this crime would be.
Police found the man, who was the father of three girls, dead around 2:00 am on Sunday, July 23. That same day, the authorities searched the residence of Herrera Gómez but did not find him. What they did find was his vehicle, a white 2021 Chevrolet truck.
