Rhythmic gymnastics wins team bronze in San Salvador 2023

Gymnasts Camille Maldonado, Danna Cortes and Giuliana Cusnier won the bronze medal for the rhythmic gymnastics team.

“Winning a bronze medal for Puerto Rico feels like repeating the history of five years ago. It feels even better because we gave everything for Puerto Rico with a lot of love and a lot of honor,” said Cusnier, the team’s veteran.

Puerto Rico won with a score of 236,750. The gold went to Mexico with 284,500 and Colombia won the silver with 264,150.

“He feels immensely happy. He feels great. It feels incredible,” Cortés said.

Puerto Rico had a rookie in the Cortes and Maldonado Games.

“It is an honor. Carrying the Puerto Rican flag is an honor and pride that I will never be able to forget. I am very grateful to all the people who have helped us along this path and behind our backs. We are very, very grateful,” Maldonado said.

It is the second time that the discipline is in the sports program of the regional contest. Puerto Rico won a silver and two bronze medals in individual events in Barranquilla 2018.
