A 32-year-old woman remained hospitalized in a very serious condition after being attacked with a mace in the Rio Negro town of Catriel, for which her ex-partner was arrested.

The victim, whose identity is kept confidential for security reasons, is housed at risk of life in the Intensive Care Unit of the Francisco López Lima Hospital in General Roca.

According to sources, the woman suffered a blow to the head that caused a skull fracture with collapse and loss of brain mass.

For the fact, they arrested his partner, CV, who is at the disposal of the prosecutor Analía Díaz together with the boss, Gustavo Herrera.

“The injuries are very serious, if he manages to survive it will have irreversible consequences,” Herrera told the press today.

It all started at noon on Friday, in the 200 Viviendas de Catriel neighborhood, in the north of the province of Río Negro, where the woman was with her four children.

According to the theory of the prosecution, after an argument, the defendant took a mace and hit the woman’s head with force with “clear intentions to kill her.” He then fled and tried to erase the traces of the fact, he said that “he took a taxi, went to her mother’s, bathed and changed his clothes.”

Meanwhile, a neighbor heard the screams and notified the police and when the troops arrived at the house they found the unconscious woman and her children present there.

On the table was the ID and driver’s license of the defendant, who was identified as the aggressor by the victim’s children.

After a search operation, the police managed to locate and arrest him, although the defendant had already changed his clothes and was “freshly bathed.”

The hearing for the formulation of charges was held on Saturday at noon and in this context the prosecutor’s office accused the detainee of “attempted femicide aggravated by the relationship they had and by gender violence.”

Prosecutors seized items at the scene of the event: a mace, clothing, and rags with stains compatible with traces of blood.

Meanwhile, the judge of Guarantees Agustina Bagniole ordered the preventive detention of the defendant for four months.
