Roccat has introduced one of its most affordable keyboards. The Magma Mini is a smaller version of the previous Magma without the number pad, F-keys and dedicated function keys – a so-called 60 percent layout. In return, the price drops by a further 10 euros, and the mini version is now also IP33-certified. Liquid splashes and coarse dirt therefore do not get inside the keyboard.

The membrane of the rubber dome keys and a milky-white plastic plate protect the PCB from liquids. At the same time, the plastic plate serves as a diffuser for the RGB LEDs on the top of the PCB: A total of 10 LEDs are arranged in two rows and can be controlled in five zones. The diffuser illuminates the upper side across the board.

The housing is made of plastic and uses a simple structure in which the PCB is screwed on from above. The keys are free. USB Type-C serves as the connection; a USB cable from type C to type A is included.

The lower-right control key moves to the left, and the standard Windows key gives way to a function (Fn) key. The latter turns the row of numbers into F-keys and allows volume control via B, N and M. You can also switch to game mode with Fn + Capslock – then act Alt, Menü, Strg and as arrow keys. The secondary assignment of buttons can be changed via Roccat’s software.

Roccat recommends a price of 50 euros for the Magma Mini. However, since the normal Magma is already available in shops for 50 euros (RRP: 60 euros), the mini version should be even cheaper. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on February 9, 2023.
