Culiacán, Sinaloa, April 19, 2023.- In front of hundreds of agricultural producers from all over the state who held an assembly at the Government Palace facilities, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya held an open dialogue with various sector leaders, including they, Marte Vega Román, President of CAADES, Enrique Riveros Echavarría, President of the AARC, Miguel Ángel López on behalf of the CNC, Baltazar Valdez, leader of Campesinos Unidos, in which he announced the results of the efforts carried out in the Mexico City before officials of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and Mexican Food Security, to achieve fair marketing prices, a meeting that he took the opportunity to announce that he will manage a meeting with the granary industrialists to guarantee the purchase of 3.5 million tons of Sinaloan corn.

The state president accompanied by Enrique Inzunza Cázarez, Secretary General of Government and Enrique Díaz Vega, Secretary of Administration and Finance, indicated that the operating rules for the acquisition of one million tons with a guaranteed price of 6,965 pesos were specified and agreed that the surplus of corn that remains at the end of the harvest would be purchased by the Federal Government for up to one million tons, so the meeting that it will manage has the objective of guaranteeing the introduction of the rest of the production to the market, through of the industrialists.

“We are going to talk about government to large retailers, in order to commit them to the purchase and tell us what their conditions are, well, this is the approach, this is what I tell them, that is the approach I have up to now and I I would return to meet with Maseca, with Minsa, with Cargill, etc. The Secretary of the Interior would accompany me, who is the second, the President cannot go, in order to try to give certainty to the other three and a half million tons,” the Governor noted.

The state president emphasized the importance of unifying the approaches of the various agricultural expressions and together building a solution route, calling to hold a new meeting this Friday with the leaders of the different organizations, to publicize the progress of the efforts.

Given the proposal of the producers in the sense of establishing an interlocutor between them and the government, to establish a more direct communication between the parties, the Governor offered them a direct dialogue.

“From today I will resolve them, I am the interlocutor, I have no intermediary. Talk to me, whenever there is a need I am the interlocutor,” replied the State Executive amid applause from the assembly members.

Finally, the state president commented that a mechanism is being sought to allow a bonus to be granted to wheat producers, which he will detail in due course.
