On the second day of Rock in Baradero 2023, around 6:20 p.m. the Pier show started to the rhythm of ‘Wounded and kicking’ for 10,000 at the Pedro Carossi Amphitheatre. They appear at Niceto Club on May 6 and June 20 at 8:00 p.m. to present the new songs on the CD that they will present this year.

They played with Juanse and Roy Quiroga, who is Pier’s current drummer. Ramiro Cerezo told Filo.News that “it was a great moment” for the band to play with the father of rock ‘n’ roll. “Juanse spontaneously introduced himself to us,” explained the Pier singer, regarding the collaboration they did with the former singer of Los Ratones Paranoicos.

With a list specially designed for the festival, Pier played the greatest hits he’s had in these 29 years and closed the show with a bang with ‘Sacrifice and Rock ‘n’ Roll’.

“Los Ratones have been a band that we went to see since we were very young, they have been an influence on Pier, and later we were craning and forming our own sound,” Ramiro acknowledged after introducing him in the song ‘La ilusión que me sentence’.

Regarding the presentation at Niceto Club on May 6 and June 20, Ramiro said that “the classics can never be missing, and we are going to try to get cool people to come, to get caught up with the proposal and make it a party.” But this time, they are going to present “themes from the new album.”

When asked about the influence of the new songs, Ramiro was categorical and stated that they have “the influence of many bands because obviously rock and roll was not invented by us.” However, currently his influence “is that we are Pier” and the new album is going to be “well Pier, well Rock and roll, well haranguing, going forward and looking for people to at least get out of this situation a little that we are experiencing,” said Ramiro.

“It happened to me that when I was younger I loved that people jump, but I also like that people listen to us, analyze, a little of everything,” he said.

Next year Pier turns 30: “He gave himself all the time to rock ‘n’ roll. Rock for us is a feeling and a lifestyle. It is the most important genre and we accept the other genres, but it seems to me that rock has to look again for that place that it really deserves that has to do with poetry, and with feeling”, he concluded.

Pier’s new album is going to bring all the rock philosophy that the band brought 30 years ago and that they polished over the years. The band’s new work is made up of ‘Don’t let me fall’, ‘Mundo en llamas’, ‘El barco fantasia’ and ‘Popular mysticism’.
