RTX 4070 Ti: which model to buy and at what price?

Unlike the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4090, Nvidia will not make a Founder Edition model, you will have to take a look directly at the partner models. Asus, PNY, Gigabyte, MSI, many brands offer their own case with certain specificities.

Indeed, Nvidia “only” delivers the RTX 4070 Ti chip, it is up to the manufacturers to do their own cooking and concoct even more efficient vapor and cooling chambers for us. There are two kinds of models: non-overclocked and overclocked. Overclocked models have a higher computing frequency than non-overclocked ones, and often, more advantageous cooling methods.

The price officially announced by Nvidia is 899€ in Francebut of course this can fluctuate depending on the models (OC/non-OC) and other technologies added by the manufacturers.

We suggest that you first discover the “classic” models, and then take a look at the more Premium models.

Non-overclocked RTX 4070 Ti models

Zotac Trinity

Zotac is still faithful to the post with its RTX 4070 Ti Trinity model. We welcome a shell with three fans for cooling and a rounded design specific to the brand.

Zotac boasts its IceStorm 3.0 cooling system present on all their RTX 4000 models which has the particularity of offering desynchronized blades according to the heat of your GPU.

Non-overclocked model requires, we find a frequency of 2.3 GHz for a consumption of 285 W. The RTX 4070 Ti chip is equipped with 12 GB GDDR6X of video memory with its Ada Lovelace architecture which has nothing more to prove.

Asus TUF

We know Asus very well for its gaming PCs and other accessories, but you should know that it is a very well-known brand for its graphics card models. Here we find a model with three fans to cool the Ada Lovelace chip with 12 GB GDDR6X of video memory, with a very recognizable design made in Asus.
No frills or glitter, but a small RGB strip above the model in a futuristically designed case.

PNY Gaming Verto

PNY offers their box again with a trio of cross-shaped RGB strips for the design. The three fans are paired with an aluminum radiator to dissipate heat.

The chip obviously remains the same and PNY is a well-known Nvidia brand that offers non-overclocked models as well as other higher-end models. PNY wants to show off your setup, and if you have a case with side glass, this is a model that will make you shine, in every sense of the word.

Asus ROG Strix

Also at Asus, we find the ROG Strix model which, like its other case, has a slightly higher width to install a ball bearing cooling system.. The hot air is propelled out of the case by the three fans, and also lets in the cool air through its ventilation grilles on the sides.

On the design side, you will have to like the colorful side with this time a fluted RGB strip on the entire side of the radiator.

Overclocked RTX 4070 Ti models

MSI Ventus

A sober and elegant case is generally what is expected of MSI. The brand offers an overclocked model with a maximum frequency of 2655 MHz.

We can still take advantage of the RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB GDDR6X video memory chip with a higher calculation frequency for increased in-game performance. Of course, the difference won’t be exceptional either, but for those looking for a very capable model without having to checkout with a more expensive RTX 4080, the MSI Ventus is made for that.

Gigabyte

This overclocked model comes straight from Gigabyte and offers a case, once again, with three fans covered with an RGB ring. We go to 2640 MHzslightly above a classic model, for higher performance.

Gigabyte is quite proud of its Windforce 3X cooling technology featured on all RTX 4000 models, which adapts fan speeds independently as needed.

KFA2

Looking for an overclocked RTX 4070 Ti model with an ultra futuristic design? KFA2 offers it to you since this model offers RGB backlighting with a daring design in a three-fan case.

Like all models, there are 3 Displayports 1.4a ports and 1 HDMI 2.0 port. If you’re looking to get yourself a multi-monitor setup, this is perfect.

Regarding its frequency, we are at 2310MHza very light overclocking compared to the basic models.

PNY’s Gaming Verto model returns with the same RGB crossover design, but this time with a slightly overclocked RTX 4070 Ti chip. With a frequency of 2310Mhzthis model is placed just above the basic models while maintaining a “classic” format for an RTX 4070 Ti model.

We always find its box with three fans accompanied by a metal backplate at the back in order to properly maintain this big toy.

What are the big new features of the RTX 4070 Ti

Nvidia continues its race for power with the new line of RTX graphics cards. We are moving to the 3rd generation of RTX GPUs with the RTX 4070 Ti. On the menu, more CUDA cores, more frequencies, more Ray-Tracing calculation units, and the imminent arrival of DLSS 3.

The RTX 4070 Ti visibly replaces the 4080 12 GB which was canceled by Nvidia. We therefore find a Ti model without having first put our hands on the classic version. For this RTX 4070 Ti, Nvidia has deprived it of a Founder Edition, it will have to go directly through the partner manufacturers, but rest assured, the latter most of the time offer even more advanced cooling solutions.

The RTX 4070 Ti has 12 GB GDDR6X of dedicated video memory and a clock frequency (non OC) of 2.3 GHz. On the consumption side, the RTX 4070 Ti requires 285 W, you will have to invest in a good power supply of at least 850 W if you want to take advantage of this model with a good Intel or AMD processor.

The move to the Ada Lovelace architecture gives us DLSS 3 (Deep Learning Super Sampling), an evolution of the technology that was present on the RTX 3000s to improve the quality and resolution of an image in real time. Nvidia even made a video to demonstrate this, the DLSS 3 allows to refine the image and produce an exceptional fluidity thanks to the power of artificial intelligence which will automatically calculate the actions that occur on the screen to generate new ones.

The RTX 4070 Ti offers manufacturer models that are still quite large, but it’s for a good cause: you have to be able to effectively cool the overpowered chip, while maintaining an acceptable noise level.
