Chicago’s stars seem to want to show off before the transfer window closes. Both Patrick Kane and Max Domi scored two pucks as Chicago beat Dallas. Matias Maccelli netted at the same time for Arizona.

Chicago would finish last in the NHL this season, everyone seemed to agree.

The club management in the windy city made it extremely clear last summer that it is time to rebuild – aggressively. The goal is obviously to win the draft lottery and pick Connor Bedard.

Bedard, the super talent who was by far Canada’s best player in the JVM at the turn of the year and was noted for a respectable six points in the Canadian junior league CHL last night. His second (!) six-point night of the season.

But in Chicago there are also still players who want to leave. Especially Patrick Kane.

The transfer rumors were on the wallpaper in the latest episode of Yle Sporten’s NHL podcast as well, listen here:

It’s now or never for Toronto – which is why the loss of Ryan O’Reilly also made life sour for Colorado

“Trying not to think about it”

Kane already expressed in connection with the sale of Vladimir Tarasenko to the New York Rangers that the deal “didn’t make him very happy” as he was also rumored to be interested in a move to the big apple.

Now the target sprayer is rumored to be on the wish list in Dallas instead. And when Chicago visited the Stars on Thursday night Finnish time, he took the opportunity to show off his skills.

Kane scored twice, Max Domi scored twice and Chicago turned 0–3 into 4–3. Miro Heiskanen managed to be noted for an assist to Jason Robertson’s third Dallas goal before the away team got started.

– Suddenly it happens. You get the confidence, the game starts rolling and things just … click, Kane says afterwards.

– There is nothing new to tell about my future. There are a lot of rumors out there, people seem to like those. But I don’t let it affect me. Everyone here is focused on playing hockey. I’m not the only one going through this right now, he continues.

The fourth goal from behind woke up the Stars, who were furiously chasing an equaliser. It actually seemed to work. First, the puck bounced on the goal line, but despite an eternity of video review, the refs couldn’t find watertight proof that the tackle had been inside.

And as the buzzer sounded in the hall, Tyler Seguin managed to find the back of the net for the second time of the evening. The referee initially signaled that the puck had arrived in time, but the video review showed that the clock had time to read 0.0 for a few tenths. Maccelli netted as Arizona lost

The Arizona Coyotes, also bottom of the Western Conference, were simultaneously visited by the Calgary Flames, who desperately need points in their quest for a playoff spot.

“Yotes” let them work for the sticks.

By the time Matias Maccelli managed to put the puck in for the fourth time this season, he had already put Arizona up 3-1. Juuso Välimäki had also scored a goal before that and reached 20 points for the season.

But then Calgary came back with a bang, scored five goals in a row and won 6-3.
