Three dead and 25 injured in Ukraine after Russian bombing
Three people were killed and 25 wounded on Tuesday in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Krivoy Rog in central Ukraine, the regional governor said.
“A five-story building was destroyed. According to initial reports, three of its residents died. 25 people were injured,” Sergiy Lysak said on Telegram, adding that there were still “people under the rubble.”
Zelensky says Ukraine’s counteroffensive is “difficult” but “advances”
“The fighting is difficult, but we are making progress, that is very important,” Zelensky said in his daily address. “I thank our guys for every Ukrainian flag that returns to its rightful place in the villages of the newly vacated territories,” he said, after his government announced that the Ukrainian army had seized seven towns from the Russians.
France to step up arms delivery to help Ukraine counteroffensive
Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Monday that a long-awaited Ukrainian counteroffensive had started a few days earlier, saying it had been meticulously planned by military leaders with a keen tactical sense. “We have stepped up the delivery of ammunition, weapons and armored vehicles… We will continue in coming days and weeks,” Macron said at a joint press conference with German and Polish leaders.
