„Cos I’m the unknown stuntman, that makes Eastwood look so fine …“

Did the catchy tune arrive straight away? Millions of people immediately have the images of a flying pick-up (GMC Sierra Classic) in mind when listening to these lines of the Colt Seavers song – and will certainly be happy about the comeback of the series.

The cult series “A Colt for all cases” is being relaunched 40 years after it was first broadcast on German television (March 1983, ZDF): As an action film for the cinema with a superstar who is half the age of the original Colt Lee Majors (84).

The series about the main character Colt Seavers, who is on the road as a stuntman and bounty hunter in California in 113 episodes, is getting a remake on the big screen and is scheduled to hit cinemas in 2024.

Lee Majors, now 84, is set to star in a cameo role. The main role in the film adaptation (original title “The Fall Guy”) takes over Hollywood superstar Ryan Gosling (42, „Blade Runner 2049“)!

An experienced “Kloppe” director makes the film

And not only fans of Gosling, but also those of action hits like “John Wick” should be happy. Because David Leitch (47), one of the makers behind the martial arts fireworks (with Keanu Reeves, 58) will direct. Leitch is considered one of the most experienced “Kloppe” directors in Hollywood, and was a stuntman and coordinator himself.

Will it be a sequel or a remake?

Fans of the old series should get the feeling of the original series. Because the maker behind the project describes himself as a “big Colt Seavers fan”. However, Seavers’ second job as a bounty hunter should not be the focus of the story.

What has been leaked so far on the content

► After an accident, Seavers (Gosling) makes a living as a successful stuntman with odd jobs. Then an old friend asks him to get back into the film business to work on a science fiction film (a kind of “Star Wars”) to hold the head for the main actor. When he disappears, Seavers must become a detective and go into the underworld of Los Angeles to clarify the fate of his protégé. But his resemblance to the real movie star causes problems.

Who else is in the Colt Seavers remake?

In addition to Gosling, Emily Blunt (40, “Sicario”) has also been confirmed as a cast for the million-euro production, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas in 2024. She is believed to be taking on another popular role on the show: Jody Banks. It was played by Heather Thomas, later girlfriend of pop singer Christian Anders (78, “There’s a train going to nowhere”) in “Colt for all cases”.

As Howie Munson, Douglas Barr (74) was Colt Seavers’ sometimes clumsy cousin, helping the stuntman with his jobs and chasing down criminals. Always referred to as “little one”, Howie often proved to be a savior in times of need and was also well received by the ladies. After the successful series, actor Douglas Barr played in several series (including “Murder is her hobby”).

In 1993 he met his buddy Lee Majors again on a joint project. They shot the film “Death of a Mannequin”.

Majors 2019 to BILD: “I just had my second knee prosthesis implanted. That’s what I get for doing all my stunts myself back then!”

According to the plans of the new film makers, majors should be honored with an appearance in the cinema version.

Colt Seavers is still a fond memory for the then lead actor, who also sang the title song. Also because his song was very successful here in Germany. Lee Majors once said: “I don’t know exactly why, but apparently everyone has a hit in Germany. David Hasselhoff had a number one win. I had a number one hit. I think they just don’t know much about music there…”

And what about retirement plans?

Majors to BILD: “Pension? No thank you! i love to work As long as the phone rings, I won’t stop filming.”

Here app users come to the survey: Ryan Gosling plays Colt Seavers. A good decision?
