Mexico City.- This Wednesday began with the counting of the delivery of the Golden Globes, and the news for the world of cinema and television continues, because now the Actors Guild Awards (SAG) announced its association with Netflix for its future transmission.

The SAG Awards will be broadcast this year on Netflix’s YouTube channel on February 26, however, the Actors Guild announced that starting next year, the broadcast will be on the streaming platform.

“I’m so excited about our new partnership SAG Awards and Netflix, and to bring my favorite awards show to a live global audience,” Duncan Crabtree-Ireland national executive director of SAG-AFTRA wrote on Twitter.

“As we begin to explore streaming live on Netflix, we look forward to partnering with SAG-AFTRA to elevate and expand this special ceremony as a live global event in 2024 and beyond,” said Bela Bajaria, Head of Global Television at Netflix in a statement.

Netflix has begun to innovate the services it offers to face competition on streaming platforms. It will soon launch live broadcasts with a Chris Rock comedy show on March 4.

The award nominations were also announced this morning, streamed on Netflix’s YouTube channel by actresses Ashley Park of Emily in Paris and Haley Lu Richardson of The White Lotus.
