Do you want to enjoy an ultra-wide screen for your movies, but while keeping a panel that has a purely gaming screen technical sheet so that you can have maximum performance in competitive games? We have what you need thanks to the sales.

Sales: the MSI 30-inch G-Sync gamer screen goes to €329

The sales continue, and with the arrival of the 3rd markdown, we are starting to see rather interesting offers on many products that are rarely on sale, such as PC screens, especially in large sizes. We therefore offer you today this ultra-wide 30-inch screen with a really attractive technical sheet, at a very low price.

Initially sold at €369.90 the MSI LED Optix MAG301 is currently displayed at €329.90. Ok, it’s not the promo of the century, but it remains a rather attractive price given the technical sheet of the machine. We explain this to you.

For its MAG301, Micro Star International has therefore set its sights on an IPS panel. The advantage is to have a great colorimetry, and excellent performance, even if you have to deal with the problem of bloom which makes the blacks rather gray.

We therefore have a 29.5 inch panel, i.e. 75cm diagonal in 21:9 format, which gives us a WFHD definition (2560x1080p). The brightness is average with 300 nits, while the colorimetry is quite good since the screen covers 80% of the DCI-P3 spectrum, we also benefit from HDR ready certification. As far as speed is concerned, we benefit from an MPRT response time of 1 ms, and a refresh rate that climbs up to 240 MHz in DisplayPort, while we will have to settle for 180 Hz if we go through HDMI.

No tearing to be expected, since the Optix supports current VRR standards, namely FreeSync from AMD and G-Sync from Nvidia. Connectivity level, we remain in the standard with two HDMI inputs and a DisplayPort input. We also take advantage of a 3.5mm jack to be able to recover an audio signal which would be routed via HDMI, when connecting a console for example.

A USB hub will also allow you to connect your favorite peripherals to the screen. The latter is also adjustable in height over 13cm, in rotation (+ or – 45°), and in inclination (from – 5° to + 20°). Finally, be aware that the beast weighs just over 7Kg and has no speakers.

In short, if you are looking for a large screen, not too expensive, and which allows you to play serenely without having a graphics card whose price is 4 figures, this MSI Optix could well be a good solution.
