Samsung confirmed this Monday (15) that it will bring its first OLED TV to Brazil, alongside the Neo QLED 2023 family, with a Mini LED panel. To celebrate the announcement, the South Korean giant will also offer discounts of up to BRL 2,000 to interested parties who register and answer four questions on the official website of the releases — there are no right answers, it is a market survey.

In the statement, the company reveals that it will soon bring its Neo QLED 2023 TVs to Brazil, in addition to the brand’s first OLED model in the country, the S90C, all presented in January, during CES 2023. on June 6th, at a press event, in addition to the deadline for registration to receive news: from today, May 15th, to June 5th.

The highlight is the promotion in which the company will offer a 5% discount — with a limit of R$ 2,000 — to interested parties who register on the launch site of the TVs. You need to put your name, surname, date of birth, email address and then answer four questions. There are no right answers, as Samsung’s intention is to gauge the public’s interest in special offers and device features. The coupon, valid for purchases made until June 25, will arrive in the registered email.

The giant also restricts itself to saying that it will announce news for the OLED 4K, Neo QLED 4K and Neo QLED 8K lines, but the footnotes make explicit exactly which models will be presented: Neo QLED 8K QN900C of 85 inches; Neo QLED 8K QN800C in 65-, 75- and 85-inch versions; Neo QLED 4K QN90C (the company’s “gamer TV”, successor to the popular QN90B) in 43-inch and 50-inch variants; Neo QLED 4K QN85C in 55 and 65 inches; and the highlight, the OLED S90C in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes.

All Neo QLED models, both in 8K and 4K, do not bring drastic changes to the display, maintaining the characteristics already known from Samsung’s Mini LED screens (dozens of lighting zones, high contrast provided by the VA LCD panel, 40 mini LEDs that take the place of a traditional LED to intensify brightness and contrast, quantum dots for more intense colors), while focusing on improving the processing and capabilities of televisions.

The 2023 family has improved HDR algorithms, even optimizing content that doesn’t support the wide dynamic range (or SDR) format, and now natively integrates support for Zigbee and Matter technologies, which allow devices to communicate with home products and services. smart from other brands including Google and Apple. It would be possible, for example, to manage an Apple Homepod through the television.

In addition, the new Samsung TVs bring Chat functions, so that users react in real time to the same content they are watching, ConnecTime, a videoconferencing platform whose differential is the easy transition of the call to smaller screens, and 3D Map View , with a 3D home viewer to easily identify and control other smart products.

Who really steals the show is the Samsung OLED S90C, which also has the smart features of the Neo QLED sisters, but draws attention to the QD-OLED panel. In summary, we have a panel that is thicker than that of other OLED TVs which, thanks to the use of quantum dots, manages to deliver much more intense brightness and better resist (at least in theory) burn-in, the dreaded “permanent ghost image”. “.
