The portal SamMobile According to their own statements, there is initial information about the hardware equipment of the smartwatches in the new Galaxy Watch 6 series. First of all, there is talk that Samsung will rely on a faster processor for the new “smart watches”. Specifically, it should be the so-called Samsung Exynos W980, which succeeds the Exynos W920.
Only 10 percent more power, but a prettier design?
The new chip is unlikely to bring any major innovations and, according to the information, will again be manufactured on a 5-nanometer scale. In the end, Samsung probably only relies on a slightly higher clock rate for the CPU, so that the performance will increase by around 10 percent according to the report.
According to other reports, the Galaxy Watch 6 series will feature slightly larger displays that will offer increased resolution. Furthermore, the usual features of Samsung’s smartwatch product range should be expected, i.e. tracking functions for sports, sleep phases, activities, the female cycle and the analysis of the physical characteristics of the users. A lot is said to be happening in terms of design, because Samsung not only relies on slightly larger screens, but also wants to reintroduce a rotating bezel in the Classic version of the Galaxy Watch 6 series. This feature should also be included in the top model of the product line, the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro.
In all cases, the border around the display of Samsung smartwatches is said to be shrinking, which is why the devices should all appear a bit more mature. When and at which prices and in which variants the new Samsung watches will come onto the market is currently still open. The market launch will probably take place parallel to the foldable smartphones of the Galaxy Z series in August.
