At CES in Las Vegas, Samsung will present an oven integrating a camera. Able to identify your food, the device can also film and broadcast the cooking of your dishes live.

After the rise of the “Just Chatting” category on Twitch, will we see a new trend emerge with “Just Cooking”? At least that’s what Samsung’s new product suggests. Ahead of the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company is unveiling an oven equipped with a camera.

The main use of this tool is to detect the type of food introduced into the device. The Bespoke AI Oven model is thus able to offer its owner a temperature and cooking time adapted to the dishes he wishes to make, The Verge. As the name suggests, these skills are provided through artificial intelligence.

Sharing the inside view of the oven

A total of 80 dishes and ingredients can be recognized by Samsung’s oven. European cooks are privileged since the models of the device sold in Europe will be able to distinguish 106 different ingredients. Another specificity specific to European consumers, an overcooking detection system is able to alert the user.

But the use of the camera does not stop there. Samsung seems to be targeting content creators directly. It is possible to film and even broadcast live the interior view of the oven. Thus, videographers or simple food lovers will be able to make their community’s mouth water on social networks.

Samsung plans to market the Bespoke AI Oven in the third quarter of 2023, but without any price communicated for the moment.
