San Benito High School Student Arrested for Threat on Social Media

A student from San Benito High School was arrested this Thursday, August 17, after allegedly making a threat through social media, the principal of said high school reported.

As a precautionary measure, the authorities announced that this Friday there will be a police presence on campus.

San Benito High School and school district administrators collaborated with the San Benito Police Department (CISD) in response to a “threatening message” that was posted/shared on social media.

As a result, police officers from the school district detained the student on Thursday night, the statement added.

“The safety and security of our students and staff will always be a top priority for San Benito High School and our school district. We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community,” it stated in writing.
