A Florida woman is accused of trying to poison her partner by sprinkling Raid, a roach poison, into their drinks.
In a press release, Volusia County authorities reported that officers arrived at the couple’s home on Wheeler Street after the victim called them about feeling physically ill.
About 4:30 this morning and they met with the victim, who was then taken to a hospital for treatment.
The survivor told officers that Veronica Cline came to the house after drinking at a bar and asked him to continue drinking with her.
After taking two drinks, he began to feel sick.
That’s when Cline allegedly told him that he added Raid to his last two drinks.
The victim told authorities that she was vomiting for about 30 minutes before she was able to call for help.
Cline was not at the home when officers arrived, but a K-9 unit tracked her down nearby and she was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was booked into the Volusia County Jail without bond pending her first appearance on a charge of food or drink poisoning.
