Teenagers shot in a Philadelphia park, including a Hispanic

Five teenagers were injured in a shooting that broke out at a park in the West Oak Lane neighborhood Sunday night in Philadelphia.

It was reported that the bloodshed took place at Sturgis Playground located in the 200 block of West 65th Street after 11:13 p.m.

Investigators said the youths are expected to recover, but so far they have not been able to find him or those responsible for the event, nor have they recovered weapons.

The injury count is as follows:

  • Victim #1 – male, age 17, with gunshot wounds to his right foot.
  • Victim #2 – female, age 16, with gunshot wounds to the right hip.
  • Victim #3 – male, age 16, with gunshot wound to left ankle.
  • Victim #4 – male, 17, with gunshot wound to the buttocks.
  • Victim #5 – Hispanic male, 18, with gunshot wound to the right hip.

Most of the injured were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition. The only one who was taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle was the Hispanic.

So far the reason for the violent event is unknown. The investigation is still active.
