Mexico City.- The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Santiago Creel, summoned President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador to a meeting to analyze how to increase the budget for scholarships without affecting the employees of the Judiciary and their families.

“I accept the challenge. See you in a week, on Thursday, May 18, at the time you want,” said the PAN member in a video broadcast on social networks in response to the challenge launched this morning by the federal president.

During the conference this Thursday, López Obrador challenged Creel to present an initiative to disappear the trust funds of the Judiciary and allocate those resources to students from poor families.

In his response, Creel asked the president to be serious, since he was the first to ask for a meeting to discuss security, but the federal president never answered him.

The presidential candidate warned the Tabascan that affecting employees of the Judiciary is not the correct way to obtain resources for scholarships.

The legislator told the president that if he wants more budget for this item, there is enough room in the budget that his government has assigned.

Creel offered to explain how to get resources to “rescue education”, if you don’t know how to do it.

“Do you want more money for scholarships? Let’s go further, let’s talk about how we rescue education. Shall we do it? There is enough room within the huge budget that you have allocated to achieve it. If you don’t know how, I’ll explain,” he said.

On the proposal that the president has considered after the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation invalidated the first part of the electoral “Plan B”, to disappear the trusts of the Judiciary, Creel warned that it is not that way.

However, he recommended that if that is his objective, he establishes communication with the president of the Highest Court, Minister Norma Piña, whom the president, Morena and their allies have publicly criticized.

“Andrés, let’s be serious, I challenged you and you answered me with another. I did not turn things around, I faced them directly. Now you want to affect the employees of the Judiciary and their families. It is not that way.

“Although, if that is your interest, talk to the president of the Supreme Court, she will listen to you, and I will gladly accompany you,” he said.
