The Satechi 100 Watt USB-C Power Delivery Charger is a powerful USB-C power supply. The new technology inside makes it possible to charge end devices faster and consequently reduce the time required for this at the socket. With an output of 100 watts, the power pack is also suitable for use with a notebook. It doesn’t matter whether it’s an economical 12-inch MacBook or the current generation of 16-inch MacBooks: the Satechi charger is also suitable for very powerful devices that consume a lot of power during processor-intensive work. The power supply is ETL and CE certified, so full loading is not a problem. At 190 grams, the power adapter is pleasantly light.
In Germany, Satechi sells the EU version, which can be used without an adapter. A USB cable is not included and must be purchased separately. A small instruction booklet is included. If you value looks, you can use the gray power supply to compensate for the design break in the Apple MacBook, whose white power supply sometimes doesn’t go with the space gray of the notebook. The Power Delivery power supply is compatible with a wide range of devices. This includes all common MacBooks and iPhones whose cables already come with USB-C. Android TV boxes or projectors, each with the appropriate adapter, can also be supplied with power using the power supply unit. This is particularly useful if you want to save on cables and additional power supplies on the go. The 100 watt power adapter never gets too warm during operation. Thanks to its low weight of 190 grams, the charger is hardly noticeable in a university or school backpack. It is pleasingly compact at 6.98 x 6.02 x 3.05 centimeters. Due to the form factor, only one USB port is available. If you need more, the Satechi 108W Pro USB-C power supply is a good choice. Both devices deliver similar performance, but each offer a different number of ports.
Inexpensive alternative
A foldable plug would be desirable to make the power supply even more compact. This is quite common with US power supplies, but rather rare in the EU. The Satechi 100 Watt USB-C Power Delivery adapter is available on Amazon for 79 euros. Since it can also be used to charge a large MacBook, the Satechi charger is a good alternative to the much more expensive one Apple power adapter If desired, Apple’s own MagSafe USB-C cable can also be used with the power supply.
