In the future, according to Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), there shouldn’t be so much shilly-shallying when wolves feast on livestock. In these cases, proof of guilt in the form of a DNA analysis and a search for suspects along the lines of “File number XY unresolved” should no longer be given, but rather short work, so to speak.

And then Söder was also really scared of the big bad wolf: A “pack formation” was “imminent” and if that happened, it would be really dangerous. Söder probably knows the numbers, but he does not name them: According to the most recent available sightings, there are just 23 wolves in the largest federal state in terms of area, which are mainly in the sparsely populated areas of eastern Bavaria.

Nothing is known of incidents. However, awakening primal fears in order to then face them manfully still works – also and especially during election campaigns.
