The transfer poker around Tim Skarke is over. As announced by FC Schalke 04, the 26-year-old will initially move to the Ruhr area on loan from Union Berlin. In addition, the current bottom of the table was able to secure a purchase option.
Skarke says about his involvement with the Knappen: “The talks with the coach and those responsible have confirmed that joining Schalke 04 is the right step for me. I really want to put the teams in front of us under pressure and ultimately achieve the big goal of staying up together.”
Coach Thomas Reis is also happy that the transfer poker went in favor of Schalke: “With his pace and ball security, Tim fits well with the style of play I envision. Tim has footballing qualities and a solid character, which is a very important combination, especially in the fight to stay up. I look forward to working with him.”
