Simon Terodde would like to stay at FC Schalke 04 beyond the season. In an interview with ‘Sky’, the 34-year-old has the following to say about his future: “I’ve just emphasized that this is a great club and that things have already grown together. Emotionally, especially for me. I notice a lot of appreciation from the fans, but also from those responsible, from Peter Knäbel, from the coaching team. And of course, it would be my wish (to stay, editor’s note).”

And further: “But you also have to take into account: The club can’t plan much, whether first league, second league. That’s probably why it’s on the back burner for now, but if I were to choose, we’d love to meet up here again next year. That would mean that I’m still playing here and that’s obviously one of my goals.” Terodde has been on the pitch in all 15 Bundesliga games so far this season and has scored three goals.
