SSRS Vadstena-Motala can now summarize 2022 as a more normal year with 86 interventions. From 71 assignments in 2019, efforts increased substantially to 139 in 2020 and 132 for 2021.

– We have gone back to a quieter year and it is above all our preventive missions that have decreased due to less traffic on the lake. We have also had fewer calls for those who were first-time owners of boats during the pandemic, says Johan Weber, station manager SSRS Motala-Vadstena.

SVT Nyheter Öst has previously reported that the trend of fewer and fewer calls is the same across the country. According to the Swedish Maritime Administration, this is because more people traveled abroad during the summer. They have also been able to see a decrease in sales at the seafood restaurants, which may be a consequence of the high fuel prices.

SSRS Vadstena-Motala also announces that operations have started again with training and exercises that could not be carried out during the pandemic.
