In Seine-Maritime, another spectacular landslide of a section of cliff, which confirms the acceleration of coastal erosion. Everything collapsed 40 meters wide, on the side of the road, very close to the houses, which worries the inhabitants more and more.

The landslide, 40 meters wide and 15 meters deep, occurred on Wednesday evening in Fécamp (Seine-Maritime). The Calvary of the sailors, icon of the city, was carried away. At the top of the cliff, a security perimeter of 100 meters has been established. Three unoccupied houses are now inaccessible, the roads around are blocked.

About sixty landslides each year

“A cliff is an avalanche corridor. You never know when it’s going to go away”, indicates Pierre Aubry, first deputy mayor of Fécamp.
