Selena Gomez has been accused of violating the rules of Screen Actors Guild strike (SAG-AFTRA) after publishing a video of the series ‘Only Murders in the Building’.

The post appeared to be a video from the set of the comedy series. Gomez tagged the show’s official Instagram account, according to a report from Variety. The post generated more than 1.1 million likes in 15 hours before it was removed from Gomez’s profile after many followers accused her of violating SAG-AFTRA strike rules.

Prohibitions for actors during the strike

The SAG-AFTRA strike rules prohibit members from promoting their work through press interviews or posts on social media while the strike continues.

Although Gomez did not speak in the video or encourage her followers to watch the show, she did tag the official account ‘Only Murders in the Building’. The hashtag led followers to assume the video was from the set of the Hulu series. That started the debate about whether that constitutes a rule violation.

Due to the strike, Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez their co-stars have not given interviews about the new episodes of the third season, which premiere every Tuesday on Hulu.
