The digital revolution is one like none before it. Digitization with artificial intelligence as the crowning glory covers all areas of life. It’s a good thing that the federal government now wants to set limits, at least in the world of work. Privately used smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops already provide information about our existence outside of the world of work. What we read, with whom we communicate, where we travel – nothing remains hidden from our iPhones and Androids. We have no control over the data that we leave behind as employees in factories, offices or hospitals. In case of doubt, it must be established by politicians. Surveillance must not take place. It should also be a matter of course in the application process that only characteristics that are related to the possible future job are examined. It’s going to be difficult enough for the state to monitor that.
