After his life-threatening fall in the French Alps, it became quiet around the Formula 1 record world champion Michael Schumacher. In a Netflix documentary, his wife Corinna gives an insight into the life of the former racing driver for the first time.

The Netflix documentary about record Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher (52) will be released on September 15. Before the big start there are a few insights. Wife Corinna (52) describes the situation after the tragic skiing accident to the fans of the racing driver: “I have never blamed God for why this happened now. It was just really bad luck. You can’t have more bad luck in life.”

Despite wearing a helmet, the 52-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury when he fell. His life was in danger for a long time. Nothing is known about the exact state of health of the former Formula 1 world champion. His family protects his privacy: “We live at home together, we treat, we do everything to make Michael feel better and better and that he simply feels our family unity.”

“The snow is not ideal, we could fly to Dubai”

Shortly before the tragic accident in the French Alps, Michael Schumacher said to his wife: “The snow isn’t ideal, we could fly to Dubai.” that I miss Michael every day, and not just me, the children, the family, his father, everyone around him. Everyone misses Michael,” reveals Carina Schumacher.

His children, daughter Gina-Maria (24) and son Mick (22), find the situation “a bit unfair”. They can no longer experience the things with their father that they almost took for granted before the accident. Son Mick now also drives in Formula 1 for the US team Haas. He would like to talk to his father about it: “I would give up everything just for that,” says Mick.

Michael Schumacher’s health remains a secret

More about the health of the ex-racer is not announced in the documentary. “We never chased after the headline, but approached it slowly and found a way together. Otherwise it wouldn’t have worked. In the end we had a protective instinct ourselves,” reveals Vanessa Nöcker, who directs with Hanns-Bruno Kammertöns and Michael Wech.

Corinna Schumacher explains to the viewers that the family would continue to live their lives: “It is important that he can continue to enjoy his private life as well as possible. Michael always protected us, now we protect Michael.”
