There, they will announce “a joint fight plan” that will include a “massive concentration” next week, probably on Thursday, in front of the Ministry of Social Development.
According telamthe referent of the UTEP, Nicholas Caropresianticipated: “A press conference will be held by almost the majority of the social, popular and piquetero organizations that represent, with their differences, the sector of workers of the popular economy.”
According to the referent, the decision to communicate the fight plan is given because “this situation is untenable where the adjustment proposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is being prioritized over people’s hunger.”
In turn, through a statement, the groups that organized the press conference reported: “We cannot get ahead with this adjustment agreement with the IMF, while the food emergency is unsustainable in our neighborhoods.”
Under this framework, they demand “financing for works, tools and equipment” of the productive units, and “no cuts in the Empower Work program.” In addition, they ask for the acceleration of “the arrival of food to community kitchens and spaces” and for “the bonus to be guaranteed to the workers of the popular economy.”
