Superman Jon Kent, son of Clark Kent, although very young and still learning to deal with his powers, has already shown in some stories that he can overcome his father in the future. And this is even more evident in a new comic, in which he faces Ultraman, the “evil Superman” of Earth-3, with what would be “the most powerful punch of all time” ever seen in DC Comics.

Before talking about the punch, it is necessary to remember what happened previously. Jon Kent has been experimenting with new powers since the recent event called Lazarus Planet. After a massive explosion from a volcano, the entire planet is hit by “Lazarus storms”, rains that wreak havoc on existing superpowers and even give new abilities to those affected.
This happens to Jon Kent, who receives a huge wave of the “Lazarus storm”, and then begins to manifest electrical powers. It is worth mentioning that, in the past, his father also showed similar abilities, especially in the sagas in which Superman was divided into two parts.

In Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent #2 by Tom Taylor, Clayton Henry, Jordie Bellaire and Wes Abbott, which was released recently, we see Jon Kent face off against Ultraman. Both have a personal conflict, as the supervillain has already trapped Jon in a volcano on an alternate Earth for years of his life.
As Jon still doesn’t fully control the extent of his powers, let alone his new abilities, as his rage builds, his fists begin to channel blue lightning. His entire costume changes color, and the hero even remembers the phase in which his father also manifested similar abilities.
Then, Jon lands a devastating blow, which manages to knock Ultraman down. And then comes the revelation that this would be the “hardest punch of all time”, in the supervillain’s words: “That… is the hardest I’ve ever been hit by anyone. And I pissed off a lot of powerful people on many dimensions “.
Afterwards, Jon is weakened and the new powers disappear. However, what history shows us is that the young man has great potential to surpass his father, especially after we know that his enhanced abilities, when activated, can make him one of the greatest forces in the entire DC Multiverse.
