NEW YORK — Authorities have a person of interest in custody in connection with the stabbings of three women in Manhattan subway stations in less than 10 minutes on Sunday afternoon, sources said Tuesday. with knowledge in the investigation to our sister chain NBC 4.
The arrest occurred in Harlem by officers from the New York Police Department’s 4th Transit District, the sources added.
The first case was recorded at around 4:14 pm on Sunday when a 19-year-old Dominican girl was leaving the line 4 train at the 86 Street – Lexington Avenuethe police report says. As the victim was walking up the platform stairs, toward the exit, the suspect approached from behind her and stabbed her in the right leg with an unidentified object. The victim finished with 19 points.
“I’m afraid of that boy because he’s still loose,” the 19-year-old told Telemundo 47. “I was on the train, he was there, he was looking at me, and I got off the train and I’m walking and he cut me off.”
It was at this time that he also approached a 48-year-old woman who was standing on the southbound platform and severed her right leg. The alleged attacker fled on a line 4 train.
In this case, from the same station, both victims were transported to an area hospital and treated for their injuries.
Almost 10 minutes later, at around 4:32 p.m., the same man approached another 28-year-old woman, who was on the line 4 train near the station. Brooklyn Bridge – City Halland severed his left leg with an unknown sharp object.
The individual then exited the train at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station and was last seen fleeing through the Brooklyn Bridge subway station exit. Chambers Street towards places unknown. The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for a severe laceration to his left leg.
