Heat warning in South Florida, prepare for a scorching day

MIAMI.- The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for South Florida until 8:00 pm this Friday, July 5, and forecasts that temperatures will reach triple digits in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

According to meteorologists, it will be excessively hot. The heat index will fluctuate between 105°F and 110°F in southeastern Florida, reaching highs between 108°F and 113°F.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the same area. “The storms will be accompanied by heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds, with the potential for localized flooding in areas with poor drainage.”

“Heat indices above 100°F are expected each day next week, with highs as high as 110°F,” the NWS predicted.

Under a heat alert, people sensitive to high temperatures should take precautions, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure outdoors.
