People in Herne and Wanne-Eickel should again receive the blessing of the Dreikönigssänger in the new year. Herne and Wanne-Eickel: Dreikönigssingen 2023 will be hybrid

The focus of the carol singers is the blessing for the people in Herne and Wanne-Eickel. Rebecca Goeke says how important this is: “The blessing is very important to many people. Social contact is particularly important for old people.” In addition, the blessing at the beginning of the new year is a fixed point of reference.

However, the Corona pandemic was also two years ago for the carol singers, in which there were some alternative ways to convey the blessing. “It was two difficult years for the children, but also for the carers,” says Goeke. The challenge was to deliver the blessing at a distance. Getting back into the “pre-corona mode” is difficult. “We have children with us who have not noticed how the campaign actually works over the past two years,” says Ute Strobel.

So there will be hybrid forms of blessing in Herne and Wanne-Eickel when singing the Epiphany in 2023. In some cases, home visits are planned, for which the families can register with the respective communities. The corresponding registration forms are available in the respective churches. In addition to home visits, some parishes from Wanne-Eickel will send out blessing packages. This includes a cover letter with information about the campaign, a blessing sticker and a donation bag. Registrations for the blessing bags are possible via boxes set up in the respective churches. The following municipalities Tub-Eickel distribute blessing packages:

As a further special alternative, as with the last campaign, there will be a carol singer drive-in. The community St. Mary invite you to a drive-in around the Marienkirche, Bismarckstraße 72a, on Sunday, January 8th. In addition, during the 2023 campaign, for the first time on Friday, January 6th, a carol singer will stop at the Herner weekly market from the Herner municipality heart of Jesus give.
