StrangerThings is undoubtedly one of the most successful Netflix projects of all time. Although fans still have one more season of the series to come, the series has already stuck in pop culture since it started almost eight years ago. Therefore, the question arises as to how it should actually continue after the end of the series. This very question was recently answered by Netflix itself. An animated series in the Stranger Things universe is to follow in the future, for which a few details have already been announced.
Stranger Things Animated Series
Although there is no information about the plot of the project to date, we at least know who will be responsible for the project, among other things. First of all, the Duffer brothers, the two central minds of the successful Netflix series, are on board. Executive producers are explicitly mentioned here.
Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen are also involved in the project as previous production partners of the hit series. The Sydney-based team at Flying Bark was selected as the animation studio. Anyone who has raised children in recent years may be familiar with one or the other of the studio’s projects. So here were, among other things, the last three Maya the Bee movies co-produced.
In the announcement, the Duffer brothers say it’s always been their dream to see Stranger Things animated like the Saturday morning cartoons they grew up watching. The Hollywood Reporter names cartoons such as the Masters of the Universe, Jem and the Holograms, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or GI Joe as possible sources of inspiration at this time.
