A months-long highway project on Summerlin Parkway is heading toward the finish line.

Crews are in the final phases of the Summerlin Parkway resurfacing and cleanup project, which began in late February on the busy highway between Buffalo Drive and the 215 Beltway.

Over the next two weeks, final paving operations will take place, resulting in overnight lane restrictions on portions of Summerlin Parkway. They will be in place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night between eastbound Anasazi Drive and Rampart Boulevard and westbound Rampart and Town Center Drive.

The contractor is in the process of completing open grade paving and signal routing for the next two weeks. Ramp closures within the work zone are also possible for the next two weeks.

After paving operations are complete, crews will work to identify repair issues that persist after initial work is complete. Nevada Department of Transportation spokesman Justin Hopkins said the project should be complete by the end of September.

“We are also about to enter the cleanup phase where the area will be thoroughly tidied up to ensure a clean environment for drivers,” Hopkins said in an email. “We greatly appreciate the patience shown by the Summerlin community. Since before the project began, we have been working with stakeholders in the area to keep them informed of closures and restrictions. We will continue to maintain an open line of communication throughout the remainder of the project.”
