Every character we see in the entertainment industry: anime, comics and video games, goes through a strict creative process. The illustrator imagines it from scratch, puts it on paper and shows it to the bosses. This is how years later (sometimes decades) we see different versions that never saw the light of day due to executive barriers.
Nintendo does not escape this situation. In fact, it is one of the strictest when it comes to approving characters. It happened to them even with Super Mario Bros, making their illustrators improve or modify aspects of several of the members of the Mario gang.
One that just leaked is the first design for Princess Peach. This one in particular, according to review M.D. Technever appeared in the video games of Super Mario Bros.
Her hair is not as blond as the owner of the castle is known to be and even in the pixelated image, which was tested in a video game that did not sell, the reddish color is noticeable.

The creator of the Princess peach is Gaku Miyao, part of Shigeru Miyamoto’s work team, who is the father of the plumber franchise. In his various attempts to design the damsel, he gave that first version that has now been leaked.
