To guarantee the tranquility of the community, the Ministry of Public Security implemented operations of both special groups and police deployment, which carry out daily prevention tasks.
Within the assurance of the Public Security Directorate, a review of official weapons was carried out, analyzing a total of 169 weapons that were in custody by the Nuevo Casas Grandes police.
In addition, 196 long-arm magazines and 322 short-arm magazines were seized; giving a total of 5,880 .223 caliber bullets, 545 .308 caliber bullets, 4,830 .9mm caliber bullets, and 22 37/38 tear gas cartridges.
During the reviews, it was detected that a long weapon and a short weapon were not located, since they were removed from the inventory of the municipal police, a fact that was denounced and recorded before the State Attorney General’s Office.
Given this and other irregularities detected, SSPE personnel took charge of the safekeeping of the weapons, which will be returned once the elements of the corporation accredit the procedures demanded by both the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security. of the State.
