Symphonic concert by the Armed Forces Band as part of the WWA festival

Enjoy a series of exciting events! This Friday you can share with your family events full of sports, STEM, music and fun.

At night let yourself be captivated by the concert of The US Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus, throughout the day you will have the opportunity to explore different museums for free, immersing yourself in history and culture.

Here are the events for Friday, June 30 at the Wawa Welcome America festival:

Enjoy the “America the Beautiful” concert, a celebration on the stage of Visit Philadelphia®. Incomparable and cozy natural landscapes on a musical and visual journey through our country. Where they honor veterans of every generation and the soldiers who stand guard today in more than 140 countries around the world and who are proud to call America “home.”

Don’t forget to bring your chair or a blanket for this event that will take place at Independence National Historical Park starting at 6:00 pm

A morning where you can play football with the Philadelphia Union or join the Franklin Institute in a science experiment. Kids can play with the West Powelton Steppers and Sixers Stixers, or kick back and listen to a story with the free library and get a book from Books in Homes USA.

Be sure to try a sample of Rita’s Italian Ice! This event will be at Penn Park located at the 3100 block of Lower Walnut Street from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

The new multi-sensory Eastern Mediterranean Gallery showcases 4,000 years of innovation in a cosmopolitan hub that continues to impact the world today, from the origins of Judaism, Islam and Christianity to the invention of the alphabet. You can also experience more than 10,000 years of history from Ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Mexico and Central America, all here in Philadelphia.

This will be at the Penn Museum located at 3260 South Street from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

It is a space to explore Swedish culture in the United States through the 12 galleries that present art, history, science and culture. Currently presenting the rotating exhibition Radically Marimekko, it is aimed at a series of Finnish women designers and innovators. Marimekko has successfully blurred the lines between fine and decorative arts, establishing Finland as one of the most important centers of design.

This museum will be with its doors open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and is located in the block of 1900 Pattison Avenue.
