A teacher from a private high school in Saint-Jean-de Luz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) was fatally stabbed by a student on Wednesday in a classroom, an extremely rare tragedy in France.

Politicians from all sides reacted this Wednesday, after the death of a teacher from a private establishment in Saint-Jean-de Luz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) stabbed by a student. Government spokesman Olivier Véran thus opened the report of the Council of Ministers with a word on this tragedy.

“We all have a thought after the terrible death of this teacher in Saint-Jean-de-Luz,” he said, assuring the educational community of “all the support” of the government.
