Just over a month after its announcement, the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro, the most advanced model ever presented by techno, now reaches yet another market: India. In addition to the rather peculiar design, with a huge camera module, the device drew attention for its very robust technical sheet, relatively affordable price considering the specifications and the retractable telephoto lens, the first on the market to have this feature.

The device is the most robust version of the line, and differs from the standard Phantom X2 mainly by the camera system — with a triple lens, the Phantom X2 Pro incorporates a 50 MP main sensor with phase detection focus (PDAF), more accurate, accompanied by a 13 MP ultrawide sensor and the biggest highlight, the retractable telephoto lens. Also with 50 MP, the component has an optical zoom of only 2.5x, but the possibility of projecting it outside the body of the phone helps to intensify the degree of magnification.

The other specifications are also impressive: at the heart of the launch is the Dimensity 9000, MediaTek’s top-of-the-line chip that, despite being from the last generation, still offers plenty of power. The platform is supported by 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM (against 8 GB in the standard X2) and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, standards that are among the fastest today. There is no possibility of expansion via MicroSD cards.

Another strong point, the screen features a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with curved sides, Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate and brightness of up to 500 nits, and there is an optical digital reader built-in under the display. The sound system, on the other hand, is one of the cuts, featuring a single modest speaker, without optimizations from specialized brands, as is the case with other smartphones in the category.

At 5,160 mAh, the battery is also quite generous, and it supports 45W fast charging — however, it’s not clear whether the compatible adapter is included in the box. Rounding off the set are 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3 and the Android 12 operating system, running under HiOS 12. Tecno does not say whether it will support major software updates, but it is likely that at least security updates will be provided are released.

price and availability

The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro goes on pre-order today (17) at Amazon India, available in Mars Orange (orange) and Stardust Gray (gray) colors, with a suggested price of 49,999 rupees, or about R$ 3,140 in direct conversion and without taxes. The device arrives in the country accompanied by a special benefit kit, including 5,000 rupees off, 12 months of Amazon Prime subscription and 6 months of warranty.

Despite the debut not contemplating Brazil, the arrival of the phone to the Asian market marks the beginning of the expansion of availability of the device, which until then was only available in Saudi Arabia. The novelty is expected to reach more regions but, although the sister brand Infinix is already widely available here in partnership with Positivo, it is not confirmed to reach the Brazilian market.
