An 18-year-old student from Miami was arrested this Tuesday in Hialeah accused of robbing a classmate at gunpointduring the sale of a firearm, according to authorities.

Earlier this month, the victim and the defendant, who attend American Senior High School, exchanged text messages regarding a firearm that Cedeño Salazar was selling, according to the arrest report.

The buyer agreed to pay $475 for it and the two agreed to meet near West 36th Avenue in Hialeah on Nov. 2 to complete the transaction, police said.

Cedeño Salazar arrived at the agreed location in his car, with a minor and a third person inside, and the victim entered the vehicle and sat in the back seat, where he inspected the weapon after the seller removed the magazine.

When the young man returned the gun and handed the $475 in cash to Cedeño Salazar, he reloaded it, pointed it at his head and ordered him to get out of the car, the police report detailed.

“Fearing for his life,” the victim obeyed and, after getting out of the vehicle, the accused and his two companions fled the scene.

The victim provided a copy of the text messages to police, which included the photo of the gun for sale. Likewise, she “immediately” identified Cedeño Salazar as the person who robbed her at gunpoint, after investigators showed her a series of photos.

The minor who accompanied Cedeño Salazar at the time of the robbery confirmed to the agents what had happened.

Miami-Dade School Board Police were notified of the theft.

Following his arrest, Cedeño Salazar was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK), where he remains without bail.
