Rubén Herpo told this newspaper in detail how the tense assault at his home unfolded / Gonzalo calvelo

As in every working day, a 64-year-old man and his 37-year-old son, residents of the Villa Progreso de Berisso neighborhood, get ready very early in the morning to go to work at the Municipal Delegation. And that was what they were about to do this Wednesday after breakfast.

However, moments before they set out on their trip, the owner of the house, located on Calle 10 (ex 67) between 122 and 122 bis, went out to the back of the building and ran into the unexpected presence of several armed intruders.

According to his account, it was about three hooded youths, whom he saw when they were jumping over the perimeter wall, at least one of them with a firearm.

Thus began a tension-filled assault, not only for the owner of the farm, but also for his son, who, hearing his father scream and different voices, left the house outside.

“STAY STILL”

Yesterday afternoon, in the same sector of the property where the robbery took place, Rubén Eduardo Herpo and his son, Eduardo Alejandro Herpo, told EL DIA how the only episode of insecurity they had suffered since the family settled took place. there in the 80’s.

Rubén, still emotionally affected by the distressing episode of insecurity, specified in any case that “it was at six in the morning this Wednesday, when as soon as I left the bathroom that we have in the patio, three young people jumped from the street the wall that communicate with the background. And immediately they pointed at me and demanded that I “stay still.” I didn’t understand anything, but it wasn’t a matter of pretending to be handsome and resisting either”.

In that moment of surprise and shock, in which there were shouts to each other, Eduardo realized that something strange was happening in the open patio. And he went out to find out what was happening to his father.

There he had a scene in front of his eyes, which frightened him: the gang had his father at gunpoint, from whom they did not stop demanding the delivery of money.

Rubén said that it was one of the most difficult moments that occurred in the approximately 10 minutes that the assault lasted.

He explained in this regard that “as soon as they saw my son, they pointed at him and immediately ordered him to get on the ground.”

In this way, the violent group continued to have absolute control of the situation. And he took advantage of that circumstance to redouble his criminal bet.

In this sense, Rubén revealed that “one of the assailants began to harangue the one who had the firearm and said ‘shoot him, shoot him’ so that he would shoot Eduardo.”

“There I despaired. I don’t know if it was a real weapon or a replica, but I didn’t want to take risks either, because my son’s life was at stake, ”she remarked.

He immediately tried to reassure the gang, telling them that he was going to hand over all the money that was in the house.

“I only asked them not to do anything to my son,” Rubén emphasized.

Immediately, he reported that “I went with one of the criminals to my bedroom and from the bedside table I took out the 150,000 pesos that remained of the assets that we collected a little over a week ago.”

“Only then did they calm down, it can be seen that they were satisfied with the amount and they did not mind stealing anything else,” reflected the man.

“WE LIVE A LOT OF ADRENALINE”

While his father chatted with this newspaper, by his side, in silence, Eduardo listened carefully to every detail of the horrible moment they faced together.

However, when Rubén recalled the moment when his son was forced to lie on the ground in the back of the house, Eduardo also said his thing.

It was to express how hard it was to be pointed with a firearm by one of the criminals and only a few centimeters away.

“I got very nervous, for moments I thought they might shoot me. It looked like they were seriously threatening to shoot me. The truth is that we live in a moment of great adrenaline ”, he admitted.

Both father and son pointed out that once they had the money in their possession, the trio of thieves sped up their escape and did so by “jumping over the wall again, but this time into the street.”

Likewise, Rubén mentioned that “when we filed the complaint at the Villa Progreso detachment, the Police asked us if we had security cameras. But at least at home there isn’t”.

“What I will have to do is raise the side wall,” he closed resignedly.
