A 63-year-old man identified as Juan Manuel Gudiño was sentenced to 10 years in prison for having sexually abused by his two granddaughters -minors-, in the city of Santa Fe.
The sentence was imposed by the Judge Sebastian Szeifert in the framework of a trial in which the procedures were abbreviated that took place in a hearing that had been scheduled as a preliminary to the oral trial.
The Special Prosecutor Unit for Gender, Family and Sexual Violence (Gefas) of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office 1 was in charge of the investigation that led to the conviction. In this regard, it was noted that “the aggressor had already been accused of the crimes that he now acknowledged having committed”.

At the hearing, it was noted that “between 2016 and 2019, the convicted person lived with one of her granddaughters and repeatedly violated her” and added that he “attacked the other girl on a December last year opportunity.”

The MPA assured that “due to the characteristics of the abuse, the age difference between Gudiño and his granddaughters, their young age and the bond that unites them, the criminal action was sufficiently important to generate negative consequences for the health of the victims. “. In addition, it was pointed out that “The convicted person used to give the girl who lived with him money after sexually assaulting her”.
“During the investigation, both victims narrated their sufferings on camera Gesell in the same way in which they had done it in front of other professionals and relatives, always with spontaneity and coherence”, it was stated.

The Defense accepted the criminal classification proposed by the Prosecutor’s Office, the sentence to 10 years in prison and the decision to shorten trial proceedings. For their part, the mothers of the victims were notified of the resolution and expressed their agreement.
